Deputy District
Attorney, County of Santa Clara (1985–2000)
Judge Carr worked for 15 years in the District Attorney’s
Office under Leo Himmelsbach and George Kennedy. She was the
first Deputy District Attorney in California to specialize
in prosecuting sex offenders who fail to register their residence
with local authorities. She was a trial attorney in sexual
assault, juvenile delinquency, drunk driving and burglary/theft
cases, and represented abused and neglected children in juvenile
dependency court.
