Judge Carr served the legal profession for more than fouteen years as one of only nine lawyers in the state responsible for developing questions for and supervising grading of the California General Bar Examination.

As Deputy DA, she also was elected President of the county’s prosecutors and public defenders labor association from 1994–1999.
